Water distillers are widely used in practices. Water distillation mimics the earth's natural purification process. A water distiller uses heat to convert water into vapor, which is then collected and cooled to liquid form. This process removes unwanted contaminants such as bacteria, heavy metals, and minerals such as fluoride, which can affect the taste and pH of the water.

What does a water distiller do?

As mentioned above, a water distiller mimics the natural purification process of the earth. But how exactly does that work? The water distiller uses heat to convert the water into vapor. During this hydrological cycle, water goes from a material form to a gaseous form. When hydrogen and oxygen molecules transition from liquid to gas, everything from chemical waste to disease-causing microorganisms are left behind. It removes any alkalinity and mineral content that the water has from traveling through rock. Distillation mimics this process, resulting in exceptionally pure water.

What is the difference between demineralized and distilled water?

Demineralized water (also called demineralized water or osmosis water) is made by pressing ordinary tap water through a semi-permeable membrane. This process removes contaminants such as bacteria and heavy metals, but it also strips it of minerals such as calcium and magnesium. Distilled water, on the other hand, is made by evaporating water and then collecting the resulting vapor. This process removes all contaminants, including minerals, from the water. As a result, distilled water has a neutral pH.

What is the pH value of distilled water?

The pH value of distilled water is 7. This means that it has a neutral pH value. However, it is true that the pH value differs per temperature. At higher temperatures the pH value will be lower. At lower temperatures the pH value will be higher.

What can you use distilled or demineralized water for?

Distilled water can be used for a variety of purposes, including drinking, cooking, watering plants and making homemade cleaning products. Distilled water is extra pure and is often used for medical purposes. Distilled water is also used in laboratories. You can also use both demineralized and distilled water in an ultrasonic cleaner.
